Little drops for Sustainability
From the Office to Waimushan, From Elite Squad to Marine Debris Hunters ― The Evolution of Shih Wei Navigation's Beach Cleanup Missions
Since 2021, Shih Wei Navigation has successfully completed seven beach cleanup campaigns.
What began as enthusiastic company-wide participation has gradually evolved into an "Elite Squad" model. As we came to realize that the real battlegrounds are often the remote coastlines where even access is difficult, our team became more focused and specialized. Through years of collaboration with the Hiin Studio, we have ventured into challenging locations such as Waimushan, coastlines often referred to as "orphan shores". From climbing ropes to navigating massive boulders, every step has tested our determination to protect the ocean.
I imagine that the Hiin Studio team must sometimes wonder where Shih Wei's elite members come from. What makes them truly remarkable is not just their impressive physical endurance, but their willingness to embrace challenges even when they know how difficult they will be.
Seven cleanup events and 4,252 kilograms of waste removed, these figures represent far more than statistics. They reflect the weight we have repeatedly pulled back from the shoreline and the countless pieces of marine debris that had accumulated over time.
In the eyes of Hiin Studio, Shih Wei Navigation may have become more than just a beach cleanup partner. We have grown into a team of dedicated "Marine Debris Hunters" - equipped with remarkable resilience, unwavering determination, and a shared commitment to protecting our oceans.
