History and Future

Shih Wei Navigation Co., Ltd. operates as a dry cargo shipping company engaging in the shipping transportation, shipping agency, ship leasing, and trading. Founded in March 1985, Shih Wei Navigation Co., Ltd. was approved to trade its stocks on Taipei Exchange (TPEx) on July 3, 2001, and to be listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) on August 25, 2003.

  • 2024
    • As of 10th Apr. 2024, Shih Wei Navigation and its wholly-owned subsidiaries run a diversified fleet of 28 self-owned ships in total, with an average age of approximately 11 years, making our Company a large-scale domestic shipping company running a diversified fleet. In the future, we will continue to diversify the operating methods, expand routes in different regions, and be devoted to the improvement of the overall service quality and strengthening the financial structure to maximize the value of the Company and the shareholders.
  • 2018
    • Dancewoods Hotel was officially opened for operation on March 16, 2018 and is the first Japanese garden-themed landscape hotel & resort in Taiwan.
  • 2012
    • Shih Wei Navigation actively started its diversification management strategy from December, 2012 and made investment in its subsidiary, Dancewoods Hotel & Resorts. As of December 31, 2022, Shih Wei Navigation’s shareholding ratio of Dancewoods Hotel was 51.52%.
  • 2006
    • To develop global shipping operation and expand diversified operations, the Company established wholly-owned Panamanian subsidiaries, Fortunate Maritime S.A. Panama in 2006 to expand the fleet size and organize the international shipping network.
  • 1998
    • In 1998, the newly-built 72,000 mt DWT Panamax bulk carrier, M.V. Giant Pescadores, was taken into service, and the Company joined the Bulk Cargo Committee of the Association of Shipping Services, R.O.C. in the same year.
  • 1994
    • To develop global shipping operation and expand diversified operations, the Company established wholly-owned Panamanian subsidiaries, Dong Lien Maritime S.A. Panama in 1994 to expand the fleet size and organize the international shipping network.
  • 1986
    • In 1986, a 9,000 mt DWT log carrier, M.V. Chia Wei joined the fleet to expand the shipping capacity for logs and general cargoes service.
  • 1985
    • In 1985 when it was just established, a 5,000 mt DWT log carrier, M.V. Blessing SW, was purchased to carry bulk and general cargoes from Taiwan to Southeast and Northeast Asia. In the same year, the Company joined the Log Carriers Group of Association of Shipping Services, R.O.C. and started to carry Malaysian logs to Taiwan and Japan.
