Proud to Clean Up: Shih Wei Navigation Elite Team in Action
On October 2 this year, the rallying call of the Shih Wei Navigation Elite Squad sounded once again. That’s right—our war against marine debris reignited. With the scorching sun above them, twenty of our strongest team members set out toward the Waimushan Coast, ready to launch a full-scale environmental defense mission on behalf of Shih Wei Navigation.
That day, the heat was relentless. The sticky sea breeze mixed with salty sweat as the elite squad bent down, gleaner-style, picking up trash and ocean waste of all kinds—each piece carrying its own “fermented” aroma. Wave after wave of foul odor attacked us, yet our battle-hardened squad pressed on fearlessly, striking down the enemy with every swift “grab” of their tongs. After an intense round of combat, the coastline gradually returned to its rightful colors. The squad then lined up on the rugged rocks and, in the most traditional way, hauled the defeated enemy—bags of collected waste—up the slope.
In the end, we removed a total of 638 kilograms of marine debris, including a wooden paddle we found washed ashore.
A shipping company is like a ship—one led by a captain who dares to charge forward and make things happen, and crewed by sailors willing to set sail together, unafraid of rough seas. The paddle we picked up felt like a message from the coastline we cared for: “Keep moving forward! Don’t fear the storm.” Just like the bold and spirited Shih Wei team that always pursues its most bold dream with an unyielding mindset.
After a bit of creative transformation, the paddle is no longer just driftwood—it now hangs on our office wall as a symbol of our collective spirit.
That day, Waimushan Coast became cleaner because of us—and we, too, became more united and more purposeful, strengthened by the bold spirit we carried throughout the mission.
