Decades at Sea, Two Stars That Will Shine Forever ― Celebrating the Distinguished Retirement of Captain Tu and Captain Chou

Since ancient times, people have looked up at the stars in search of direction. For seafarers, the stars have long served as trusted guides across the vast ocean, leading generations of sailors safely through wind and waves.

At Shih Wei Navigation, we have been fortunate to have two such guiding stars. Captain Sung-Lin Tu and Captain Chien-Hsin Chou have devoted decades of their lives to the sea. They dedicated their youth to sailing, and in return, shared their invaluable knowledge and experience with Shih Wei Navigation. Through their professionalism, leadership, and unwavering sense of responsibility, they guided our fleet through countless inspections and challenges. To all of us at Shih Wei Navigation, they have been a constant source of confidence and reassurance.

This year, the veterans have decided to put away their charts and embark on a new journey in life. To express our deepest gratitude for their years of dedication, the Company presented each of them with a meaningful retirement gift — a personalized Star Naming Certificate. Captain Tu's name has been dedicated to a star within the Big Dipper, symbolizing guidance and direction. Captain Chou's name has been dedicated to Polaris, the North Star, representing steadfastness and unwavering protection. Throughout their remarkable seafaring careers, they have left behind not only courses worth following, but also memories and examples that will continue to inspire us.

We believe that whenever we look up at the night sky, two stars will shine brightly with their names. Although they have stepped down from the bridge, their seafaring spirit, wisdom, and warm companionship will continue to illuminate every voyage of Shih Wei Navigation.
