M.V. Moonbright SW Receives Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Coast Guard

In September 2025, our M.V. Moonbright SW received a Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) while berthed at Richmond Port, USA. The recognition was awarded in acknowledgment of the crew’s professionalism and positive attitude during their participation in the USCG Inspector Training Program.

This training program is one of the U.S. Coast Guard’s key courses for developing Port State Control (PSC) inspectors. It involves practical, onboard exercises that help inspectors enhance their understanding of ship safety management and anti-pollution standards.

Shih Wei has always regarded ship safety and environmental protection as core corporate responsibilities. At the same time, we are committed to fostering talent development and professional exchange within the industry. Therefore, we highly value opportunities to cooperate with the Coast Guard in onboard training exercises.

During this training, the vessel served as a live teaching platform, allowing inspectors to conduct hands-on drills in a real-world environment. It also enabled the crew to gain deeper insight into the inspectors’ operational procedures and inspection standards. Through this meaningful exchange, both parties gained a stronger mutual understanding, leading to enhanced cooperation and greater effectiveness in ship safety management.

Looking ahead, we will continue to actively participate in and support international initiatives related to maritime safety and environmental protection. We are committed to working with authorities around the world to promote the sustainable development of navigation safety, environmental preservation, and maritime talent cultivation in our global community.
