Award of excellence of the Little Picasso Painting Contest 2024: Small Hands. Big Vision.

This year, we continued our collaboration with the children from After School Association of Taiwan’s three bases in Hualien, (Minxiang, Guangfuand Xiulin Base). The themes of the contest were "The Hidden Wonders of My Hometown" and "The Ocean of Hualien". We received many vibrant and colorful artworks from the children. Let's take a moment to appreciate these playful and creative works, and experience the diverse beauty of Hualien and the enchantment of the ocean.

The earthquakes earlier this year and the recent typhoons have taken a toll on Hualien. However, we hope that the children could heal themselves through art and express their love for their hometown. Through the paintings, they have shown us the resilience and vitality of Hualien. Let's continue to support Hualien and its people during this difficult time.

The children used their brushes to depict the most beautiful ocean scenes and hometown landscapes in their hearts. Interestingly, a recurring character in this year's works was the "wild boar."

Why do so many children include wild boars in their drawings? Perhaps it is because, in their eyes, Hualien is not only home to stunning seascapes but also rich biodiversity. The wild boars in the children's artworks encourage us to reflect on the relationship between humans and nature, and remind us to always respect and protect our environment.

10 awards of excellence from the 1st and2nd grade (Group A), 3rd-4th grade (Group B), and 5th-6th grade of elementary school plus junior high (Group C) categories collectively, as well as 30 honorable mentions to encourage their efforts.
