Navigating with Safety, Aspiring to Greater Heights — Shih Wei’s Seafarer Training Seminar
For our brothers at sea, the ocean is home. Despite today’s advanced communication systems, there remains a lack of face-to-face warmth and interaction. To uphold the core values of Shih Wei Navigation—Safety of People, Ships, Cargo, and the Environment—Shih Wei Navigation, in collaboration with Xiamen PanOcean Maritime Service Co., Ltd., held a technical training seminar for offshore seafarers from June 10 to June 12, 2025.
This event brought together more than 70 officers (ie Captain, Chief Engineer, Chief Officer, and Second Engineer). Shih Wei Navigation sent a team of experienced representatives to Xiamen to conduct comprehensive lectures on practical operations and shipping trends. Industry experts were also invited to share valuable insights and "insider tips" from their respective fields. The training covered both depth and breadth—ranging from fault diagnosis and troubleshooting, to cargo handling and accident prevention. In response to the growing focus on mental well-being, the program also included discussions on managing stress from the work environment and the importance of affirming one’s self-worth from a foundational perspective. These three days were truly a feast of knowledge and spiritual enrichment.
As the saying goes, “Isn’t it a joy to learn and constantly practice what you’ve learned?” Without regular review and practical application, learning risks becoming empty theory. This seminar hosted by Shih Wei Navigation in Xiamen aimed to create a platform that fosters both “learning” and “practicing”, breaking down barriers between specialties and encouraging the sharing of experiences between seafarers and office team, resulting in meaningful internalization and greater possibilities.
Shih Wei Navigation is committed to enhancing the professional competence and risk awareness of all seafarers and office team. This event not only reinforced the company’s core spirit among crew members, but also promoted effective communication and cooperation for both sides. Moving forward, we endevour to hold technical training seminar and field exchanges, striving to build an outstanding fleet that champions both maritime safety and sustainable development.
