Shih Wei Navigation Co., Ltd. was established in March, 1985 in accordance with the laws of the Republic of China, Taiwan . On August 25th 2003 , the company went public and was listed on the securities exchange of Taiwan Stock Exchange Cooperation. By October 14th 2015, total capital stocks are approximately NT$4,200,000,000.00 (Four Billion and Two Hundred Million New Taiwan Dollars.)
Shih Wei Navigation Co., Ltd. has been engaged in dry cargo shipping, including, but not limited to, shipping transportation, shipping agency, ship management and chartering as well as ship sale and purchase. Right after the company was founded a 5,000 mt deadweight log carrier m.v. “Tien Wei” was purchased to carry general and bulk cargo from Taiwan to South East Asia and North East Asia. Same year the company joined “The Log Carriers Group, Association of Shipping Services, R. O. C. (LCG)” and started to carry Malaysian logs to Taiwan and Japan . A 9,000 mt deadweight log carrier, m.v. “Chia Wei” was then joined us the following year in order to serve wider scope of log and general cargo business. m.v. “Giant Pescadores” (renamed “ Buenos Aires ”), a 72,000 mt deadweight Panamax was built in Japan and taken into service in 1997. Consequently, Shih Wei joined “Bulk Cargo Committee, Association of Shipping Services, R. O. C.”
To expand and vary our global shipping operation and fleet as well as to establish excellent global marine network service, two full-capital and 100% owned subsidiaries, Dong Lien Maritime S. A. Panama and Fortunate Maritime S. A. Panama, were therefore set up in Panama in 1994 and 2006 respectively. By Mar. 8th 2021, total 36 vessels consisting with handy, Handymax, Supramax, Ultramax and Panamax are under the operation, management and or investment of Shih Wei Navigation Co., Ltd. The company is now rated as the most diversified bulk and general cargo shipping company with a young fleet (average age of 9 years).
